About Therapy

Approach

My approach to therapy primarily utilizes a humanistic lens while incorporating elements of emotion-focused and existential therapies. I focus on individual strengths, the barriers we face from our environment and past experiences, and how to overcome those obstacles by harnessing your unique strengths. With respect, an open mind, and a bit of humor, I aim to help you overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

Services

I currently am meeting in-person and by video call, Monday through Friday. Contact me for more information on my current openings for the following services.

Individual Therapy

My approach to therapy is informed by Humanistic Psychology and Existentialist Philosophy. I value the therapeutic relationship as the primary factor in the success of therapy. Therefore, I focus on providing a genuine and safe environment to explore emotions and thoughts with compassion and accountability. My work style is collaborative, focusing on drawing from existing strengths and increasing self-confidence to address challenges and meet goals.

Couples/Relationship Therapy

I utilize an emotion-focused approach when working with couples and other relationship structures. In sessions, we may focus on improving communication, addressing challenges with sex and intimacy, and breaking cycles of conflict. We’ll also work on identifying needs and goals, and how to meet them in the context of the relationship. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ couples and polyamorous relationships, and the unique experiences encountered in those relationships.

Sex Therapy

Sex therapy specifically concentrates on addressing sexual difficulties and concerns within the context of intimate relationships. This can include challenges with sexual dysfunction, communication problems, sexual trauma, or exploring sexuality and sexual orientation. As a sex therapist, I have received specialized training in human sexuality, including sexual health, sexual functioning, and exploring kink and desire. In this work, I support people in understanding their sexual interests and increasing their overall confidence with sex and intimacy.
